Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th, 1991. She's an American singer-songwriter and the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. Her first EP, Pho on October 21 2016, was released through Dreamville Records. The singer began to earn recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox first posted songs online in the year 2012. The singer released her debut album Ariography and debut mixtape in 2013 with five Finger Discount. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her own single Bound along with her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. On July 21st, 2015. Omen was featured on Elephant Eyes song"Sweat it Out.. The following year, her music was circulating all over the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some references for Rihanna. She officially was signed by Dreamville Records on 8 December. She was featured on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. The singer released Pho, her debut EP on the 21st of October in 2016. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's hit song Change and was an opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. She also appeared in the music videos Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus along with Bas, her labelmates. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. A music video was then released in September. Then, in November, she released the singles forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November 13, she dropped two singles titled No One or Pedigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole on The Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16and later released the song as a single by herself on her debut album. The 20th of February, 2019, a music video was released to promote the song. It already has nearly three million hits on YouTube within the debut week. In support of the track She toured together with 6LACK during December 2018 on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
